That’s where the educators enter the picture. Once a student makes a full career exploration and decides on paths worth exploring, your job is to help them down the road that seems like a good fit. While you won’t want to discourage career paths, some of the 16 career clusters simply won’t make sense for students. For example, poor science skills would disqualify them from a career in that field, as would a lack of people skills for a career in hospitality.
Knowing where your students stand in life skills is another crucial part of the program. Seeing and developing these skills might be the priority when students are working down general or highly specific career paths.
